Hello, this is Kimura from the ApparelX trend blog.
The days are gradually becoming more spring-like during the day, and it's starting to feel like wearing spring-like clothes.
Today, I would like to introduce you to floral prints, which are a trend for SS25.
- Floral trend background
Floral patterns are one of those designs that have been popular throughout history, and have been reinterpreted in different ways throughout the ages, making them a popular fashion trend again and again.
Past floral trends have been like this.
1960s – Hippie & Psychedelic Floral prints exploded in popularity as a symbol of flower power, with bohemian styles and colorful psychedelic prints making this a trend.
1970s – Romantic & Retro Vintage floral patterns were in fashion. Feminine dresses with ruffles and gathers were popular.
1990s – Grunge & Natural Influenced by the floral shirts worn by Kurt Cobain, floral patterns are incorporated as part of the grunge style. The standard style is to pair it with a long dress or Dr. Martens.
2010s – Millennial & Vintage Revival Vintage floral dresses make a comeback. Miu Miu and Gucci incorporate floral patterns into their collections with a modern twist.
The floral pattern that I personally remember most vividly is the so-called "Mori Girl" style that was popular from 2006 to the 2010s.
The natural and girly style was led by a floral print dress and incorporated lace, lace-up boots, straw hats, etc.

The dark romantic antique floral print combined with fur and metallic items creates a fashionable look without being too cutesy.

The nostalgic, large floral pattern is elegant, but the fabric is textile, so it doesn't stand out too much and gives off a soft, fleeting impression.
・Miu Miu

The soft material and colorful floral print give it a fancy cuteness. It goes well with the leg warmers, which are a recent look icon of Miu Miu, and has a high affinity with Ballet Core.

This cotton fabric textile a gorgeous large floral pattern. The daisy-like flowers come in a wide variety of colors.
For large motifs, I would like to make a dress or flared skirt with a lot of fabric so that the design can be seen.
