Hello, it's Jane again!

``Why did you come to Japan?'' I can't remember how many times I've been asked this question, but my answer is always ``Because I love Japanese culture!'' Some people may not believe that answer, so in this series, let's talk about Japanese things that attract foreigners!

A very popular subculture not only in Vietnam but also all over the world: Japanese Lolita fashion!

What is lolita fashion?

It is a style that expresses the innocent cuteness and devilish beauty of young girls, and is aimed mainly at teenagers, with a nostalgic yet completely new Japanese interpretation, powered by admiration and imagination for Western culture. This is street fashion. It is attracting attention not only from Japan but also from other countries. Lolita fashion is sometimes described as ``adult girls' clothing.''

How did Lolita become popular internationally? It all starts with manga, the Japan Festival, and the internet. However, Lolita is not just about fashion, it also includes lifestyle. Over time, international Lolitas began to build their own communities through Live Journal and Facebook. Gradually, Lolitas gathered and meet-ups and tea parties were held.

A few years ago, it was very difficult to purchase Lolita clothing directly from Japan. As foreign lolitas, we have encountered various problems such as language, not being able to shop online, and not being able to ship overseas. Gradually, local Lolita brands were born in each country.

Lolita fashion evolved into a subculture that was widespread in Japan and abroad in the 1990s and 2000s, but I think it has declined in Japan in recent years. I don't wear Lolita clothes much anymore, but I always enjoy Lolita designs. For me, Lolita fashion has always been a special feature of Japan.

Until the end Thank you for reading! I would really appreciate it if you could share this post and support me!
