How is washi textile made?

What kind of textile is actually available?

This time, I would like to explain about washi textile .

What kind of textile is washi textile ?

washi textile is also called shifu. As the name suggests, it refers to cloth made from washi.

Specifically, paper fibers are used as fibers when weaving cloth. There are many different types of clothing fibers, typically cotton, linen, wool, and synthetic fibers.

We believe that the use of washi fiber will be revolutionary in that it is not only suitable for clothing, but is also environmentally friendly.

Advantages and disadvantages of washi textile

washi has the following properties.

  • Environmentally Friendly
  • High UV protection rate
  • High antibacterial properties
  • super lightweight etc.
  • No fuzz occurs

It has many characteristics that modern people are happy about.

However, on the other hand, washi also has disadvantages.

  • easily flammable
  • weak to water

What kind of washi textile actually exists?
